Nigerian star Tobi Amusan had a powerful beginning to her 2026 outdoor season, finishing second in the women’s 200m at the Velocity Fest in Jamaica.
The world record holder in the 100m hurdles clocked 23.25 s, placing behind Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson (22.61s). Ackera Nugent came third (23.35s).
Although it was not her primary discipline, Amusan's excellent performance offered an early glimpse of her current power and speed as she builds toward a busy season of global competitions.
