A week later Biafra surrendered, Gowon declared NO VICTOR NO VANQUISH, but Ojukwu did not return yet, he lived in exile for 13 years then in 1982 president Shehu Shagari granted him a pardon, Ojukwu came back home to a hero's welcome.
