Under the Old Covenant, when a man sinned, he brought a lamb as a sin offering. By placing his hands on it, he identified with it as his substitute. His sin was transferred, and the lamb died in his place.

He walked away free… because another took his place.

Under the New Covenant, God has provided the ultimate sacrifice—Jesus. He is our substitute.

By identifying with Him through faith, we no longer stand in our sin, but in His righteousness.
