A police inspector, Otor Ejiga, was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen in Makurdi, Benue State. The officer was reportedly attacked at an unauthorized checkpoint near the Mega IDP Camp. The assailants fled with his rifle. Security agencies are investigating and searching for the suspects. The incident occurred on Thursday evening.
