The primary purpose of marriage was, is, and will be COMPANIONSHIP. if that is not the primary thing that drives both parties into marriage, it won't be long before they fall apart. Procreation is secondary!

In most sane societies, people could be married for years and still Intentionally decide not to have kids even when they are not having any infertility related challenge just their choice, because, they understand the importance of COMPANIONSHIP in the existence of marriage.
