Symbol of Resistance and Defiance
Few know the story of Ologbosere — a Benin chief who fiercely resisted British colonial forces.
During the Benin Expedition of 1897, he helped stop the expedition led by James Robert Phillips.
Even after Benin City was sacked, he led two years of guerrilla resistance against the British.
Captured in 1899 due to betrayal and executed.
History rarely tells his story. Now you know.
