Boko Haram is still able to kill people in Nigeria in 2026 because the conflict has evolved, the group has splintered, and the Nigerian state has struggled to fully eliminate their networks. The situation is complex: it’s not simply a matter of “killing them all,” because insurgencies survive through mobility, local grievances, and porous borders.
