Amnesty determined this by analysing videos and images taken before and after the attack on the school, which was near a compound belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

It said an independent forensic pathologist was hired in its investigation.

"This harrowing attack on a school, with classrooms full of children, is a sickening illustration of the catastrophic and entirely predictable price civilians are paying during this armed conflict," said Erika Guevara-Rosas.
