The comment by Sly Ezeokenwa of the All Progressives Grand Alliance that politics should not be a full-time career deserves serious attention.
Healthy democracies are built by people who already have productive economic identities; entrepreneurs, professionals, farmers, innovators. Who step into public service to contribute, not to survive.
When politics becomes the only ladder of economic mobility, public funds become tempting targets.
Public office should be service, not economic dependency.
