Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West, Henry Seriake Dickson, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the newly registered Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Dickson announced his defection during a media briefing in Abuja.
The senator said persistent internal disagreements within the PDP have weakened the party, noting that the party’s “umbrella” has shrunk and can no longer accommodate many members, including himself.
