A growing trend among Nigerian and other African content creators involves using exaggerated slapping or hitting in comedy skits to land punchlines, amplify reactions, or deliver messages. While meant as entertainment, relying on physical acts like these raises concerns: Does it normalize violence, even in jest? More critically, what lessons are young viewers; especially children and teens who watch daily learning?
