The Anambra State Government has warned that any student who fails to attend school on Mondays will face a one-week suspension.

Henry Emeka: This is misplaced priority. Education should be free. Children must be protected from Boko Haram, not punished for poverty. Government should fix root causes—create jobs, provide housing, build good roads. Don’t suspend students for what their parents can’t afford. Focus on solutions, not punishment
