Ayatollah Arafi Named Iran’s Acting Supreme Leader.

Alireza Arafi has been appointed Iran’s acting Supreme Leader following his election to the Leadership Council by the Expediency Discernment Council.

The council assumes leadership duties until the Assembly of Experts selects a successor. Arafi will serve alongside President Masoud Pezeshkian and Chief Justice Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei during the transitional period.
