Australian tech researchers ran Doom on a computer made of human neurons

Startup Cortical Labs launched the shooter on its CL1 biocomputer, built from about 200,000 lab-grown human neurons.

The cells were placed on a chip and connected to a “biological intelligence operating system” that sends data about the virtual world and receives their signals in return. The neurons currently play at a beginner level, but they can move, look for enemies, shoot and gradually learn from mistakes.
