I do not think that state police will be able to fight the insecurity problems of this country. Why? With the sophisticated level of the bandits and terrorists, it takes a well fortified military with intelligence and armory capabilities to deal with the menace. I am yet to see any part of the world that the local police has been used to flush insecurity at this level. You can set up state police to handle local issues but not the level of banditry and terrorism in the country.

Jean Claude Agbortem Obi: Before talking about state policing, I sincerely believe that we need a serious purge in the police and military first. We need a more patriotic military and police force in Nigeria which is not the case now.
AOJ: Well, I completely agree with you. However, they could be deployed in local information and intelligence gathering to complement the work of the DSS, while the military engages the outlaws in the theatre of operations.
