I strongly condemn the reported attack on Peter Obi in Edo State and call on the government and security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

Political leaders and citizens alike must be able to move and engage freely without fear of violence or intimidation. The authorities in Nigeria must take urgent steps to guarantee the safety of all political actors and uphold democratic principles across the nation.
