Authorities in Dubai have arrested the individual known as "Lekki Street Boy" on charges of public begging. Under UAE law, this offense is punishable by a 5,000 AED fine and three months' imprisonment. Reports indicate that businessman E-Money sponsored the trip to provide him with better opportunities; however, the suspect was apprehended by police after returning to begging. He is slated for deportation to Nigeria upon completion of his jail term.
