He actually obeyed instantly.! One then understands that it appears we usually obey God when it is convenient otherwise before Rehoboam made the decision which led to the division of the kingdom, couldn't he have sought the same God's counsel?🤷‍♀️

Anyways, so God spoke through a prophet and told Rehoboam not to fight back and so he stopped but Jeroboam, the new king of the 10/12th of the kingdom of Israel was not aware of this step taken by God.
