A Nigerian-led team at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has achieved a major milestone in malaria research.
The scientists determined and deposited the first-ever crystal structure of Plasmodium falciparum transketolase bound to an inhibitor in the global Protein Data Bank — the first entry authored entirely by Nigerian researchers.
