A faction of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has reportedly become confused after a senior commander was killed in Borno State by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by his own group.

The incident happened on February 24 in the Lake Chad Basin axis, where insurgent factions are still active, according to security sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama.
