The Federal Government today said it would begin to distribute 50,000 mattresses to the Nigeria Correctional Service centres across the country.
This is aimed at improving inmates’ welfare and reinforcing rehabilitation within the correctional system.

Henry Emeka: This is what lack of priority looks like. Nigerians face no jobs, no electricity, no affordable housing, no free education, no healthcare — yet 50,000 mattresses are being distributed to correctional centres. Instead of spending money on symptoms, fix the root causes that push people into crime.
