China has called on the United States to cancel its unilateral tariffs following the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down several of former President Donald Trump’s trade measures. The Court ruled, in a 6–3 decision, that he did not have legal authority under the 1977 law to impose broad tariffs on specific countries.

Beijing’s Ministry of Commerce announced that it is conducting a “comprehensive assessment” of the ruling’s impact and urged Washington to change its policy.
