The mystery of power.

Many outside the power orbit swear they have all the solutions
Until they get the power.
Surrounded by exotic appurtenances of power
And a circle of obsequious sycophants masquerading as friends
Perspectives change; new ideas emerge
With new solutions tangential to the public good
Citizens become a bother pushed to the border
Suddenly tenure screeches to an end
Then vision is restored
But alas, it's too late.
