In 2003, during a condolence visit to the late Oba of Lagos, Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ibrahim Ado Bayero, was blocked by area boys demanding to be “settled.” They surrounded his convoy and defied warning shots. He eventually handed out cash to leave. Such conduct is utterly shameful—an embarrassment to Lagos and a stain on our sense of respect and order.
