Anger obliterates compassion and inclination to forgive. Resentment, on the other hand is a slow-burning anger that consumes the soul. Also, the pervasive poison of bitterness, if left unchecked, can put our relationships with God and others at risk. Similarly, revenge is among the most primitive of human instincts that seeks to destroy a person.
