Each time I offered Amanda so quickly, I was choosing convenience over connection, as if my real name were too much to ask of others.

My real name, Oluwasesolami, means God has added to my wealth/riches(not necessarily physical wealth but wealth in every sense). The names carries so much.

I decided I wouldn’t set it aside so easily anymore. I began correcting people gently when they stumbled, teaching them the right way to say it.
