But one day during a class, I noticed that there was a particular girl who always sat alone. I asked if she wanted to work together. She did. We’re friends now.

I think my experience made me realize that forming friendships wouldn’t always just happen. Just because it was that way in Nigeria didn’t mean it would be the same here. I sort of realized that if people weren’t coming to me, I could go to them.
