The Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday suspended the impeachment process it commenced against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, following the intervention of President Bola Tinubu.

The decision was reached during plenary shortly after lawmakers reconvened in Port Harcourt, the state capital, effectively putting an end, for now, to the impeachment notice earlier served on he governor
