Electoral malpractice is not accidental; often instigated, financed, or tacitly endorsed by those seeking office. It is therefore deeply ironic to expect the principal beneficiaries or perpetrators (i.e senators & Reps ) of such infractions to design & enforce laws that would meaningfully curtail them. That expectation is akin to asking chefs to legislate the criminalisation of cooking: it assumes that those whose interests are served by a practice will voluntarily dismantle it. #ElectoralReform
