Nigeria and 11 other West African countries have renewed efforts to launch the Eco regional currency, a move that could transform trade and economic stability in the region.

The countries are working to harmonise monetary policies and meet strict macroeconomic benchmarks required for the rollout. Nigeria is expected to play a leading role in shaping the future of the proposed currency.
