Tragedy in Plateau: 37 Miners Dead,25 Hospitalized After Suspected Gas Poisoning in Zurak
At least 37 miners have died & 25 others hospitalized following exposure 2 suspected carbon monoxide in an underground mining site in Zurak,LGA,Plateau State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday,18 February 2026,when workers were operating in poorly ventilated tunnels. Survivors were rescued and taken to nearby health facilities, with some reported in critical condition.
