At an emergency plenary on electoral matters today, the House of Representatives commenced deliberations under tense conditions. Outside the National Assembly, protesters continued demonstrations, demanding real-time electronic transmission of votes.

Inside the chamber, Hon. Francis Waive moved a motion seeking the rescission of the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill to allow the House reconsider the legislation.
