The United States Department of the Treasury has sanctioned eight Nigerians over alleged ties to Boko Haram, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, and cybercrime activities.

According to officials, the sanctions include freezing any assets under U.S. jurisdiction as part of efforts to disrupt terrorism financing and transnational criminal networks.
