Ovulation doesn’t always happen on day 14. That only applies to a perfect 28-day cycle. In reality, ovulation occurs about 12–14 days before your next period. So a 35-day cycle may ovulate around day 21, while a 24-day cycle could be around day 10. Cycles vary, so calendar predictions aren’t always reliable.
