I wish I had someone to hold, and fall asleep with...

Sitting in silence, in the dark.
Looking at nothing in particular.
Thinking about no one, in particular.
Just sitting, in silence, in the dark.

Not even music to distract me.
Just me, the generator drone in the background.
The AC.
Warbled sounds from a radio outside, nearby.
Crickets, tinnitus.

Silent, still, alone.
