I was in my kitchen peeling onions when a thought came to mind. For every new sprout of life, something often has to die. When you slice an onion, you may see fresh green shoots on top that look like spring onions, yet traces of decay can still be hidden inside.
This reminds me of the scripture that says unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. (KJV)
