I alighted from the taxi I boarded at a place called Wuye bridge in the FCT and needed to go to the other side of the road which is almost as wide as one half of a soccer pitch. Seeing how vehicles sped on that road and how I had to be calculative and patient terrified me. When other pedestrians ran across the road, I was genuinely concerned about their safety. Knowing that people do this everyday is scary. Pedestrian bridges are a necessity.
