This is how Nigeria has been chained by tribalism. We cannot speak with one voice on our common needs and collective progress, yet we unite easily when it comes to tribal bigotry and religious sentiment.
We rarely blame our leaders; instead, we blame ourselves along tribal lines. How, then, do we expect progress? When no one holds leaders accountable, we turn against one another, believing we understand the problem, while in reality our leaders continue unchecked. Worse still, we praise them.
