Bear in mind that the makeshift kitchen, shower room and toilet were all located separately outside.
Thankfully, none of us had weak bladder issues.
Because, if nature called at 2 in the morning, one would have to bravely navigate blind through pitch-black darkness just to take a leak, not knowing whether feral dogs and stray cats were about, scavenging.
So, compared to where I’d come from, this setup wasn’t just a downgrade, it was pure nosedive straight into a steep abyss.
