AFRICA WASN’T THE PROBLEM.
IT WAS THE OPPORTUNITY.
While others ignored Africa, MTN went all in.
In 1994, Africa’s telecom market looked risky—poor infrastructure, low income, and high uncertainty. Most companies stayed away.
MTN saw growth where others saw danger. They expanded early into African markets and built networks first.
Today, MTN connects over 280 million people across Africa.
The risk became the reward.
“Built in Africa.”
