Pro English tip for today ✍🏽
❌ “I’m coming.” (when you’re actually going away)
✅ “I’ll be right back.”
✅ “I’m on my way.”
“I’m coming” is very common in Nigerian English, but in Standard English, it usually means you’re moving towards the speaker, not away.
Language is context, culture, and clarity.
Did you already know this? 😊
